India chased down a massive target of 209 with remarkable ease as Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav produced a breathtaking batting display in the second T20I against New Zealand in Raipur. Kishan smashed 76 off just 32 balls, while Suryakumar remained unbeaten on 82 off 37 deliveries, guiding India to 209 for 3 in only 15.2 overs  a thrilling contest that cricket fans on tigerexchange will remember for its explosive batting.

Early Setback, Brutal Counterattack

The chase looked shaky early on when India slipped to 6 for 2 in the second over. However, Kishan counter-attacked immediately, dismantling the New Zealand bowling during the powerplay. He brought up his half-century in just 21 balls  the fastest by an Indian against New Zealand in T20Is as India raced to 75 for 2 after six overs.

Suryakumar Finds His Rhythm

Suryakumar played the perfect supporting role initially before shifting gears. After a cautious start, he exploded against Zak Foulkes and Mitchell Santner, scoring all around the wicket. He reached his fifty in 23 balls his first T20I half-century in 24 innings and ensured there was no slowdown even after Kishan’s dismissal. Shivam Dube chipped in with a quick 36* off 18 balls to finish the chase in style.

New Zealand’s Fast Start with the Bat

Earlier, New Zealand made full use of the dew after being sent in to bat. Devon Conway and Tim Seifert gave them a flying start, but Harshit Rana and Varun Chakravarthy pulled things back in the powerplay. Rachin Ravindra continued the momentum with a brisk 44 off 26 balls, while Glenn Phillips provided brief fireworks.

Middle-Overs Slowdown Proves Costly

India struck back in the middle overs through Kuldeep Yadav and Shivam Dube, removing key batters and slowing the scoring rate significantly. New Zealand managed only 41 runs between overs 12 and 17, which proved costly. Captain Mitchell Santner’s unbeaten 47 off 27 balls, along with a late cameo from Zak Foulkes, pushed New Zealand past the 200 mark to 208 for 6.
